Taipei Day 6 - 27 Aug 2009

Started our day day at Chun Shui Tang, very near the Dr. Sun Yat Sen National Memorial Museum MRT station. This little eating place had a rustic feel with wooden chinese inn like furnishing and waiters dressed in simple uniform. The restaurant was rather quiet on a weekday afternoon and it was nice chilling out here for a cold cuppa bubble tea and snacks.

We tried their special fries which J loved, chicken nuggets (preferred Macdonald's), lemon green tea which was really refreshing and was J's favourite drink, and bubble red milk tea. We shared the pai ku su mien (Crispy pork rib noodles). It was a pity the pork ribs were soaked in the soup. They could have separated the ribs and the noodles.

After the meal, we headed to the nearby Sun Yat Sen National Memorial Museum. As the hall serves educational and research roles, there are arts and cultural events held there. We saw students practicing dance, etc and tourists around the museum.

The statue of Dr. Sun Yat Sen and the view of Taipei 101 from the fountain just in front of the main entrance of the museum.

Dinner was booked at this restaurant "Can shi tien tang" meaning meal paradise. There were endless selection of food! This place needs booking. It was full house on a week night! We booked 2 days in advance, and we had to sit near the toilet.... urgh!

There were japanese cold cut section, chinese dishes, dim sums, section on freshly steamed items and fried ones upon order, teppanyaki upon order, tempura section, dessert section with cakes and sweets and has both movenpick and haagen daazs ice cream selections, drinks section which include fruit juices, beer, etc... all for the price of NT800 per person.
